It's the perfect day for hot espresso. And since I'm a native (but no long a resident) of the Pacific North West, I'm somewhat of a Starbucks fanatic. So, because there are not many 34 degree days in this Southern state in which I now live, I bundled up the boys and headed off to run errands who am I kidding? Starbucks.
When I got home later, and had unloaded children, groceries, and even a few Christmas presents, I quick snapped a picture of our drinks.
Only the two kids hot cocoa's would be holding hands with each other, while the grande mama would be balancing a 25lb baby on her hip, while also holding her purse, her trusty Starbucks card, and the hand of the youngest hot cocoa.
Perhaps it's needless to say that by the time we were done, this grande mama needed a venti ice water despite the outdoor thermostat.
But... it was so worth it. Some might not even call it coffee, but I still think that a Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha is THE. BEST. DRINK. EVER.

not being a huge mint person (and the only one in our family here :-() i go for the venti caramel machiato... yummers!! i so know how you feel there in NC. we hardly touched our canister of hot cocoa while we lived there and we were the ONLY folks out in the 2 inches we did get!! it shut down post for 2 days and we literally rolled around in our front yard... man i do miss that midwest winter!! hope you have more 'chill' in the forecast ;-)
That is close to my favorite drink, mine's a regular peppermint mocha (2 pumps of each) and a special treat is a black and white peppermint mocha...have you tried it that way??
Kay-- my husband doesn't like mint either. Such a bummer, cause I love it. But then I don't have to share. :)
Alicia--that is my sister's favorite drink (the 2 pump pep mocha). I'm not sure that I've tried the black n white. Is that half dark choc, half white? If it is, I will have to get it the next time. That sounds PERFECT.
I had a peppermint mocha today too! I took all four kids to Target. We have a s.bux in our Target so its extra fun. The kids get the $1.50 popcorn and slushie (from the target food court) to share and I have my mocha. Everybody's happy.
I will have to try the peppermint but have to say I always get the Venti! Pumpkin Spice Latte is my seasonal favorite though. I too miss Starbuck's. In Fort Worth there was one every few miles, always near shopping, and just down the street from our house. Super excited they put one on Post by the North Commissary. -Kenna

The one by the North Commissary is always empty. Perfect for me and 3 kids who don't like to wait in line. :)
